Biography

Dr. Eduardo de Gregorio-Godeo teaches British Cultural Studies and Applied Linguistics at the University of Castilla-La Mancha, Ciudad Real (Spain). Especially interested in issues of gender, politics or migration in media discourse, he has published extensively on the instrumentality of Linguistics and the resources of Discourse Analysis for the analysis of cultural practices of representation and identity construction. Some of his most recent publications include Making Sense of Popular Culture (co-edited with María del Mar Ramón-Torrijos, Cambridge Scholars Publishing, 2017), Indagaciones críticas en torno al universo de la cultura popular (co-edited with María del Mar Ramón-Torrijos and Ángel Mateos-Aparicio, Letra Capital, 2017) and Identity and Identification: Selected Proceedings of the 14th International ‘Culture & Power’ Conference (co-edited with Ángel Mateos-Aparicio, Ediciones de la Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha, 2017). Together with Dr. José Igor Prieto-Arranz, he is managing editor of OCEÁNIDE – the journal of the Spanish Society for the Study of Popular Culture.
